When Synergy Commercial Finance launched back in 2015, Chris Adlam joined, and it is safe to say he has never looked back!
Prior to joining Synergy, Chris Adlam worked in the finance industry for 13 years. After coming across Synergy at the NACFB Exhibition in Birmingham, Chris knew there and then that he needed to be a part of the Synergy family and a short while after the event, he set up his own franchise, Advanced Funding Solutions.
Chris quickly took on John Mansel as an Appointed Representative, who has since grown into his role and made it his own. Chris expressed “His clients love him!”. Soon after they collaborated, they both moved into their first office – making his business feel “official”.
Throughout Chris’ 5 years with Synergy Commercial Finance, his business has grown from strength to strength and he has seen Synergy’s brokerage evolve over time, starting off with 6 brokers and now it’s soaring onto 68 brokers and over 200 funders.
Chris says he feels “honoured to have worked alongside many industry professionals such as Mike Geddes”, who is a board member for the NACFB, and many other experts within the Synergy Commercial Finance network.
He thrives over the freedom that being a part of Synergy allows him to have, which is essential as Chris adores spending time with his family. He said “Synergy is everything you could want in terms of support and being part of a family, they may be in the background of Advanced Funding Solutions, but they are always there when you need them, especially Piotr Twaits”
For Chris, one of the main benefits of being a part of Synergy Commercial Finance is having access to over 200 of the best funders on the market. This gives him no limitation on what type of deal he can carry out. The world is his oyster!
Of course, just like any other business, there has been a few hiccups along the way, but with the “incredible people” whom he’s surrounded by, he’s managed to leap over those hurdles in no time and come back better and stronger.
One of the biggest achievements that come with the job, is that he can source the funding for a large volume of property investors. He can help them build their property portfolio, which brings them all great success! Chris said “Seeing other people successful and knowing I have helped them and guided them through their journey is definitely the highlight of my career. It’s a bonus because they always come back for more business.”
The one piece of advice Chris would give to anyone looking to join Synergy Commercial Finance was “Just go for it! You have all the tools you could possibly need to become a broker, if you have the right work ethic, the work is there waiting for you.
We have one rule in our office, ‘ten before ten’ this is where we ring up ten potential customers before 10 am, and then we continue with the rest of our day. You have to help yourself!”
