Welcoming Roxy Seabourne to Synergy Commercial Finance
Roxy Seabourne and her business partner, Richard Ward, launched into the Finance Industry in July 2020 with their own finance brokerage, Grange Business Solutions Ltd, after working closely together for over four years as key account broker managers for a business loan provider operating in the specialist finance space.
Roxy’s role as a broker manager taught her a lot about the value in building trustworthy relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Roxy states that “understanding a funding requirement of a client is essential in order to negotiate favorable terms with credit”.
With a positive approach, Roxy ensures enough comfort is provided to decision-makers in the form of either mitigating information or additional security. Ensuring clear communication between relevant parties at all times.
Likewise, a key attribute of being able to look through a business’ financials and make a quick decision about the probability of an acceptance always held Roxy in high regard, saving time and managing expectations across the board.
Roxy feels that owning and managing my own finance brokerage seemed like a natural progression from her employed role at a lender. Over the years, she has made hundreds of close professional connections in the specialist finance sector and was regularly asked to join various brokerage firms across the UK. Roxy politely declined the opportunities but remained open-minded about the possibility of setting up on my own.
It is no surprise that Roxy was initially weary about becoming self-employed during the Covid-19 pandemic, but she was attracted to the notion of being able to help SME’s find funding solutions to help them through an unprecedented economic crisis. However, she did not want to remain focused on just one product and felt that her knowledge of credit and risk in the current market, coupled with her ability to form lasting relationships, would be beneficial in becoming a broker.
Having worked closely with a number of AFS/Synergy franchisees in the past, Roxy understood that they were well-supported with compliance and current market details, especially at their early stages of trading. After speaking with Piotr Twaites, Roxy was also attracted to the range of funders on the panel and enhanced commission structure for AR’s.
Roxy will use her existing network to gain introducers and referrals and promote the services via the various social media platforms which she is very active on and although her background is cashflow solutions, Roxy considers herself to be a generalist.
