AFS proudly supports Secrets Santa’s ‘Computers for kids’ appeal!

With the majority of children not being able to physically attend school as a result of COVID-19, there has been an incredibly high demand for laptops/ipads.

Secret Santa helps the disadvantaged across the whole year and not just at Christmas. In January 2021 they started running the “Computers for kids” appeal. They are asking individuals/businesses to donate any unutilised tablet/laptop/P.C that they can then give to the disadvantaged children and families across the Blackburn with Darwen area to help them with their educational needs!

Having read about the appeal on social media, we knew we had to get involved to help our local community! We had 3 spare laptops we kept just in case one of our current laptops broke. But knowing there are children out there missing out on their vital education was paramount than us keeping them as backups.

Phil Boulding, M.D of Secret Santa commented “Local companies, like AFS, donating computers to us for onward distribution to our disadvantaged children, obviously makes a huge difference to us, but a MASSIVE difference to the child. We really are changing and improving children’s lives here with the ‘Computers for kids’ appeal.”

If you are in Lancashire and would like to get involved, please email phil@secretsanta.ltd or call Phil on 07866 566166.

Alternately, if you do have a spare laptop or iPad I’m sure a school or community group in your local area will greatly appreciate it.

As Audrey Hepburn once said “As you grow older you will discover that you have two hands. One for helping yourself, the other for helping others.”
