Here at AFS we’ve just completed another round of regional meetings. This year we welcomed more than 70 franchisees and ARs from across the United Kingdom in joining us at three regionally-based events.
Why do we run regional meetings?
As an appointed representative (AR) of Asset Finance Solutions you are entitled to attend our regional meetings. These meetings are a key opportunity for our brokers to meet others from the network and receive crucial advice and training from our keynote speakers. In addition, we provide ARs with the latest news and updates within the business.
Who were our keynote speakers?
A huge thank you in particular to Jonathan Dent from Investec on his contributions on recognising and preventing fraud. He also provided a re-fresher talk on credit. This is unfortunately a constant risk in our line of business and the words from Investec will help to ensure our reactiveness and judiciousness on this issue continues well into the future.
Investec were joined by representatives from sister company Quantum Funding, who delivered a presentation on boosting sales, an integral part of any brokerage business.
Finally, representatives from HMA Tax took the stage to talk about capital allowance claims, a process which allows commercial property owners to identify unclaimed allowances and tax breaks. This is a great tool for broker lead generation and ensuring our customers receive the best possible solution for their requirements.
What did our franchisees think?
“Wednesdays regional meeting was invaluable to me. Aside from meeting other like minded franchisees and getting ideas on where to place certain types of deals, we were able to learn about new sectors which were previously outside of my comfort zone.
I met and discussed 2 deals whilst sitting next to underwriters of Quantum and Investec and learnt how to maximise other income streams through cashflow finance and capital allowance by asking only a few more questions in the deal process.
Then, of course, we spent some time in the bar after the meeting where you could not wish to meet a more upbeat group of people willing to help, listen and make you laugh. I left the event wondering to myself why I hadn’t taken the step to become an AFS Franchisee years earlier than I did.”
